February 2015 Update
Originally opened as a local market offering cooking classes, prepared dinner service, and gourmet deli sandwiches, persistent customer demand drove our expansion into a full service restaurant that offered a unique open kitchen lunch and dining experience, as described by Candy Sagon in her November 2013 review in the Washington Post (click here for the complete review). Chef Nick greatly enjoyed the lively interaction with customers and friends while preparing gourmet meals in our unique and intimate open kitchen, and we appreciate all of our loyal customers in the Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland region over these past 7 years. Thank you for the feedback and reviews in Facebook, Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Google+. Please subscribe to our mailing list to receive updates on special events and our future plans! Sincerely, Chef Nick Forlano and The Staff of Forlano's Market |
Dear Patrons
It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of Forlano’s Market on Thursday, January 29th. My staff joins me in expressing what a great privilege it has been to serve you over the last 6 and a half years, and we sincerely thank each and every person who has contributed to our success. The outpouring of kindness, help and patronage we have received over the years has been truly astounding and we are deeply grateful. While we will not discuss the details of the reasons behind our need to relocate, we will say that is has not been for lack of public support. Part of our mission at Forlano’s has always been to create a space that nurtured the community and you as the community have nurtured us in return. Over the years we have had the pleasure of employing many teenagers who have grown into amazing young adults before our eyes. We have celebrated milestones and anniversaries with the families who regularly warm our chairs, and we have grieved losses with them as well. As we bring this chapter of our adventure to a close, please come out to share a memory and make a new one as we celebrate the unforgettable ride that has been Forlano’s Market. Our last day of business will be Wednesday, January 28th. Please stay tuned to this website and our Facebook page, as you never know what the future holds. You may see the crew and I back at it in a new location before you know it! Sincerely, Chef Nick Forlano and The Staff of Forlano's Market P.S. GO PHILLIES!!! |
